Mascara Woes

Oh do I have the woe for you. I know it all too well. I get a mascara that I've seen and that I've already fallen in love with, and it irritates my eyes. And then my eyes almost fall out.

Or, I get the girl falls in love with mascara, and mascara leaves big clumps on the lashes. By the way, it's not cute when a girl flirts with a boy and she has mascara clumps on her lashes (even if he doesn't know!).

Right now, I use this mascara from Bare Escentuals. It's the Weather everything waterproof edition. I like it, but I'm not in love with it. And you know you just have to be in love with your mascara.

Mascara I use (from sephora.com)
Weather Everything Waterproof Mascara

My main point in looking for a mascara is that it has to hypoallergenic since I wear contacts and have dry yes. I also have semi long lashes so I don't need mascara for length but for volume! These are two key points you have to ask before buying mascara.

I tweeted about my predicament with mascara and got a few responses that I will have to try. The first one I would love to try is the Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara (I hope Jennifer C is reading this!)!

There was also a Maybelline vibrating mascara I was told about. I will definitely have to check into that the next time I'm in Target or CVS.

I also want to try Great Lash (I believe it's Maybelline as well).

What mascara do you use? Love it? Share it here! :)

BeautyFULL

This has nothing to do with makeup or beauty products. Nothing at all. It has to do with the devastating news that has come from Haiti recently. Some people tend to just watch the tv and stare and cry. I'm just the opposite. I can't stand to watch the news and see the hurt and pain in the people's eyes. It breaks my heart.

So, as the jewelry maker, humble servant of God that I am, I have decided to donate all money from the sales of my earrings to the Red Cross Haiti efforts.

So maybe you'll like these earrings... Or these... Or this pair. Or if you went to LC, then maybe these. But remember, not only would you get a pair of earrings but also the satisfaction of knowing you've helped people in need.

Share this information if you wish. This will be going on for however long it takes to send some relief money to Haiti.

Colorful Lady Part Two

So remember back when I posted about Sephora's color palette awhile back? Well I did once before... Check it out here.

Well, anyways, I was very upset when the fall and wintery weather came to Charlottesville and I had to put away my spring and summer colors. Alas, the first palette, has not been used in well over two months because I believe them to be non-JP friendly colors in the winter.*

*Note: the colors in the first palette are just in my own personal opinion non wintery. They are more summer colors. If you happen to use any of the colors in the original palette now duriing the winter, by all means, go for it! I just don't believe that I could pull off the make up applying and make it seem season appropriate.

But YAY! :) Sephora came out with ANOTHER Color Palette! :) Which in my mind is a lot more conducive to fall and winter make up looks!

And it's PRETTY too! :) Who else is excited?! Mom knew to get this for me for Christmas (I actually bought it but that's just a technicality!). I also got this palette for my sister.

Let me proudly introduce you to Sephora's Brand Color Palette II for $24!

Color Play Palette II ($120 Value)

What the beauty gurus at Sephora have to say about this product:

Color Play Palette II ($120 Value)
What it is:
A palette that contains all the color products you need to create endless makeup looks.

What it does:
Get 10, 000 looks in one palette! Jam-packed with 36 powder eyeshadows, 12 lip colors, 3 powder blushes, and a bronzer, this professional Multi-use Makeup Palette is perfect for transforming your visage into a vision of perfection. Highly pigmented eyeshadows and cheek colors allow you to achieve any desired look with ease—making the Color Play Palette great for skilled makeup artists as well as beginners! Sleek and travel-friendly, it comes complete with a Mirror Portable Makeup Station for easy application on the go.

What else you need to know:
This palette is a $120 value offered at an amazing $24! It's paraben free and safe for sensitive skin. The compact size is 6.3" x 7".

What this self proclaimed beauty guru has to say:

As much as I loved (still do!) the first palette, this one is my favorite right now. That may more than likely have to do with the fact that it's more 'wintery' in colors and color combos but still my fave!

Like the description says there are 36 eyeshadows, 12 lip colors, 3 blushes, and a bronzer. The palette has an extra two dollars tacked on to the price as compared to the original palette but I still think it's a steal for everything you are getting! So, as memory serves me correctly each item was 40 cents last time and now it's 46 cents per item in the palette. So really it's quite a deal.

I also LOVE the eyeshadow colors because they are very highly pigmented and are actually the new shadows that Sephora debuted earlier in the year (which may have to do with the price increase - just a thought). The shadows are darker in nature compared to the first edition, but they are still very beautiful in my opinion.

Can you believe there are over 10,000 combinations with this palette alone? Amazing! :) If you add that to the number of shadows, glosses, and blushes you already own then that number will soar!

I whole heartedly give this item five lipsticks out of five (my rating system).

What do you think of this review? Have you tried this product? What do you think of it? Are you likely to purchase it or a combination set like it? Questions? Comments? Concerns? Just let me know!

I'm BAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK! Part Two.

So I'm back now. And it's 9:43PM and I'm tired. I can't wait to share details with you about all the goodies I got for my sister for Christmas (from make up places). Alas, I can't do that until AFTER Christmas.

I can't wait to share with you the goodies I got for myself at Sephora last week. Or the fact that my Make Up For Ever foundation, with a combo of Korres bronzer and blush, made someone comment that I 'looked natural' not my make up apparently, but me. Score.

I can't wait to discuss foundations, eyeshadows, and the BEST lip gloss ever....

But obviously, I'm going to wait. Because I don't know what one of these topics I should write about first. And I admit, I'm about to fall asleep.. ;)

And secondly, Monday's are supposed to be for questions and answers... So leave a comment on here and then I'll update this post with answers to all of your questions.

As for a beauty review which one of the three that I listed above, would you like to see next?!

I'm BAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!

So I'm back. FINALLY! :) Unfortunately, this won't be a review post BUT there will be one tonight... Hmmm what should I review tonight? Lip gloss? Blush? Foundation? Eyeshadow? Oh the possibilities are endless! :)

I'll be back tonight! :)

MIA

Hi girls and guys and whoever else reads this blog! I'm so sorry I've been MIA and not posting but ever since Monday afternoon the internet at my house hasn't been working....

Turns out, that someone had somehow cut the cable outside of the house that runs to the pedestal (?) even though it's buried underground. Anyways, it'll take 7-14 days to have a contractor come out and bury a new line.

So it looks like I'll be MIA for awhile. I am working on posts at home and hope to come to Starbucks to post, but I can't promise anything...

Happy (late) Thanksgiving... Hope your Turkey Day was fabulous...

Until I post again! ;)

Make Up For Ever... In My Heart

So if you've read any of the last posts, you have seen this one and know that I have eyeliner lust for the 25 full product sized Aqua Eyeliners from Make Up For Ever. And now, I'll give you a better understanding for my desire for all things Aqua Eyeliner! :)

Only at Sephora, Make Up For Ever's Aqua Eyes (eyeliner and shadow all in one) is sold for $17 per pencil.

Aqua Eyes

Let's hear what the beauty gurus at Sephora have to say about this product:

A two-in-one eyeshadow and liner pencil.

What it does:
These waterproof eyeshadow and eye liner pencils contain a unique formula that adheres to the eyelids and resists water even under the most extreme conditions, without running or fading.

Size: 0.04 oz

And now let's hear what this self appointed beauty guru has to say:

I love these eyeliners! This is actually an eyeshadow and an eyeliner all in one. I have a tendency not to like eyeliners because they are hard to put on, but these roll on your eyes like butter! :)

I have several colors and all of them are quite delicious! I love the OL (I think it's actually zero 0L but not positive) which is the 'mat black' color. The 'pearly brown' color is quite nice, in the 2L. I'm also quite a believer in the 'shimmering plum' color aka 4L. I also love the 'light brown' aka 19L and the 'Burgundy' 18L. They have a total of 25 eyeliners and they are only $17 each at Sephora!

These are great eyeliners and stay on like the name says "Make Up For Ever"

I definitely rate these eyeliners as five out of five lipsticks! Have you tried these before? What do you think? What do you think of this review?
